“A Pool of Flowers”

In a pool of flowers, I consider to stay awake

I fathom the identity of space and time and realize, it’s an embodiment of who I am

This makes me renegotiate the type of lifestyle I once knew

We all do

Come to certain conclusions, when confidently we know nothing

The long-distance code, by which I abide, set from the existence of hope

Surely, I’ve done no wrong

You’re mesmerized by their words, as they sing the same song

I look into your eyes, and I can tell that there are places you have never been

Clouds you haven’t touched

Pathways where you see the reflection of the sun

Tell me why haven’t you had any fun…

Tell me why, as someone as innocent as you, must recollect false statements, and carry them, weighing more than a ton

You overthink everything, and that’s okay

We’re not perfect, we’re instruments, and sometimes we break away

Certain strings do a multitude of things, but on those days, I know you like to play

What else can I say…

A forward motion that settles on dust and decay

I’m in the land of pity and stolen toys

I’m drowning in fear and confusion, every other day, but what else can I say…

Honestly, why is it like this every day?
